The top of the table for LaLiga thus far in 2018-19 has seen some unfamiliar faces, injecting a new life into the early stages of the campaign. Levante and manager Paco López have been one of the clubs raising eyebrows throughout Spain, and they will look to continue their strong form on Friday evening against Real Sociedad.

Los Granotas are unbeaten in their last six games across all competitions, most recently a 1-1 draw at Villarreal. Levante have been able to get the most out of key players in the line-up, specifically José Campaña. The holding midfielder has displayed sharp skill in front of the back-line, and links up well with the attack when moving the ball forward.

Up front, López has been able to rely on the talents of Roger Martí and José Luis Morales. The two forwards have combined for ten league goals through 11 matches.

On the other side, Real Sociedad manager Asier Garitano needs to breathe some life into his side in terms of scoring. La Real have failed to net a goal in their past three LaLiga fixtures, and that will have to change if they are to enter the top half of the division. The Basque squad will find that task to be difficult versus Levante goalkeeper Oier Olazábal, who leads the league in total saves with 57.

Real Sociedad enter the weekend in 13th place.

In the two meetings of the sides last year, the home side came out on top with a 3-0 win on both occasions.

Team News

For Levante, a foot injury will keep Rubén Rochina out of action until next month. Summer signing Nikola Vukčević is back in training following an ankle issue. Expect to see Borja Mayoral as an option at striker, on-loan from Real Madrid for this season.

Real Sociedad are still dealing with injuries to right-back Joseba Zaldúa (ankle) and midfielder Mikel Merino (groin). Luca Sangalli has also missed training sessions this week with an illness.

Predicted Line-Ups

Levante (3-1-4-2): Olazábal; Róber, Postigo, Chema; Campaña; Jason, Prcić, Bardhi, Toño; Roger, Morales

Real Sociedad (4-2-3-1): Moyà; Elustondo, Llorente, Moreno, Hernández; Zubeldia, Illarramendi; Januzaj, Oyarzabal, Sandro; Willian José
