Eibar head to Castille and Leon on Saturday looking to climb into the top half of La Liga with three points against high flying Valladolid.
Real Valladolid vs Eibar – Estadio Jose Zorrilla – Saturday 10th November – Kick off 12pm UK time
Jose Luis Mendilibar’s men came from behind to win last week’s clash with local neighbours Alaves at the Ipurua to lift themselves up to 12th in the table, two points behind Getafe, Valladolid and Girona who complete the top half of the league.
Valladolid had a poor start to the season but a six game unbeaten run before losing at Real Madrid last weekend has seen them push up the table and they’ll hope to climb even higher before the international break.
Saturday’s clash will be the first meeting of the sides in over 12 years, with Valladolid winning 1-0 at the Ipurua in the Segunda division in May 2006 the last time the two played each other.
Valladolid manager Sergio has a near fully fit squad to choose from with attacker Ivi Lopez and youngster Mohammed Salisu the only absentees after they missed training on Thursday. Keko Gontan is fit to return however with no other injury worries to contend with.
Eibar had a nightmare time in Gijon last Thursday prior to their league win over Alaves with a 2-0 defeat to La Liga 123 side Sporting in the Copa del Rey with Jordi Calavera and Ivan Ramis also picking up injuries which kept them out last weekend and will do so this week too. They join Pedro Bigas on the injury list. Pedro Leon is close to a return but isn’t likely to make this game. Pablo De Blasis is out after getting sent off against Alaves.
