Alaves boss Abelardo has been eyeing up a solution for the left-back role after suspension to Ruben Duarte.
The in-form full-back was sent off after just 24 minutes at the weekend as the Basque side lost to Eibar 2-1; a result which saw them dip in form slightly.
With the weekend fixture coming up against Huesca, former Barcelona defender Abelardo is now toying with his options to replace the unavailable Duarte.
Adrian Marin, who arrived from Villarreal – is an option, but knee problems which have kept him out thus far this season – make his chances, slim.
Martin Aguirregabiria is an option, with the experienced Ximo Navarro or Vigaray being moved to the right back role.
Aside from not having Duarte available, Alaves have been sweating on Tomas Pina’s injury problems.
The Spanish midfielder was forced to leave the pitch against Eibar after an hour, suffering an injury to his right thigh.
Pina’s injury was examined on Monday afternoon and his lack of availability has left Abelardo with a problem area in midfield – having seen Wakaso be ruled out for two weeks with a sprained shoulder.
Both Pina and Wakaso have been in good form this season so far, meaning their time out could cost the Basque side.
