Alaves vs Huesca – Estadio Mendizorrotza – Sunday 11th November – Kick off 11am UK time
One of this season’s many surprise packages in La Liga, Alaves, will move to within a point of the top of the table if they can pick up all three points against bottom of the table Huesca.
They currently sit fifth in the league, albeit level on points with Atlético Madrid and Sevilla above them, having won six of their 11 games so far but fell to a late defeat last weekend in an enthralling derby with Eibar.
Huesca on the other hand have won just one game so far, on the opening day against Eibar, and find themselves in an early season relegation fight.
Alaves have won the last three meetings between the two teams although the last of them was a 1-0 win at the Mendizorrotza in La Liga 123 in 2016.
Ruben Duarte is suspended for Huesca’s visit after getting sent off at Eibar last weekend. In terms of injuries, Mubarak Wakaso won’t be back until after the international break, Tomas Pina is out until December while Rodrigo Ely has a knee injury, keeping him out of action until the new year. Adrian Marin and Fernando Pacheco are doubts.
As for Huesca, Gonzalo Melero and Luisinho are both out with doubts over the availability of Ezequiel Avila and Rajko Brezancic. Xabier Etxeita is expected to make the squad however.
