Celta Vigo vs Real Madrid – Estadio Balaidos – Sunday 11th November – Kick off 7:45pm UK time
It’s been a poor start to the season for Real Madrid by their standards as they currently sit in sixth place, seven points behind leaders Barcelona.
That has led to the dismissal of Julen Lopetegui with Santiago Solari taking temporary charge of the first team. They showed signs that they may be turning a corner with a 5-0 thrashing of Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League.
Opponents Celta started the season poorly but have improved in recent weeks with their most recent game producing one of the games of the season, a 3-3 draw with Real Betis.
They have Iago Aspas in their ranks with the forward the league’s joint second top scorer with eight goals and he will be sure to cause problems for the Real defence.
This fixture last season ended in a 2-2 draw but Real were well on top at the Bernabeu, winning 6-0.
Stanislav Lobotka is the only player missing for Celta on Sunday night with Antonio Mohamed not likely to make wholesale changes from the Betis clash.
Real on the other hand remain without at least two of Real’s first choice back four out of this one. Marcelo and Raphael Varane are definitely out with Dani Carvajal also expected to miss despite returning to training.
Celta Vigo (4-4-2): Sergio; Mallo, Roncaglia, Cabral, Junca; Hjulsager, Yokuslu, Beltran, Brais; Aspas, Gomez
Real Madrid (4-3-3): Courtois; Odriozola, Nacho, Ramos, Reguilon; Modric, Casemiro, Kroos; Bale, Benzema, Asensio
