Extremadura announced on Tuesday that Antonio Rodriguez Saravia known as “Rodri” had been chosen to replace Juan Sabas as first team coach.
The Catalan coach, who will be accompanied by Eduardo Vilches as his assistant, met his players for the first time on Wednesday morning while the team prepared for their match on Saturday away to Rues.
The coach indicated that he has done his research on all his players and stated that “This team has a lot of fight and pride, and we have to take advantage of the close relationship we have with the fans”.
Rodriwas very happy and excited and confidently told the players today that, “We are going to pull together to strive and get the club out of their current predicament.”
He also thanked his former club Tenerife where he was the assistant coach to José Luis Oltra. He also made a point of thanking former coach Juan Sába for all the previous work he had done with the team.
Rodri said, “We will take advantage of all the good that was done previously and we hope to contribute different factors along with hard work and honesty and we expect the players to give their all.”
