Italian side Bologna have been linked with a move for Villarreal striker Nicola Sansone, it has been reported.
The Italian striker cited his desire to leave the Spanish club over the summer after being linked with Inter Milan.
A move to the Serie A giants did not come about though and Sansone stayed, offering Javi Calleja another forward option.
But playing time has come few and far between, and the striker is now being linked with a January exit – but that will not be to Inter, who have since filled their void up front.
Bologna have now emerged as the side willing to make a move, whilst Parma and Lazio are also said to be interested.
Having grown up in Germany, Sansone spent the majority of his young footballing career with German giants Bayern Munich.
After being relegated with their second team, he transferred to his homeland with Parma in 2011. A few successful seasons in Serie A with Parma (partially on loan with Crotone), he earned a move to up and coming club Sassuolo in 2014.
A move back to Italy and to former club Parma does appeal to the striker, however, Bologna are said to be the favourites at this point.
