La Liga Latest (Real Madrid): Navas to agree new deal; Vinicius Jr thanks team-mates

We head over to Santiago Bernabeu to look at Wednesday’s latest news from Real Madrid, including a potential new deal for Keylor Navas.

The arrival of Thibaut Courtois was expected to see the Costa Rican keeper leave Los Blancos but with the former Chelsea keeper having struggled for form thus far – Navas has been given more playing time than expected.

A more frequent regular in the Champions League, Navas is now expected to receive a new and improved deal which would see him stay at the club until 2021.

Vinicius Junior thanks team-mates for helping him settle

The Brazilian was relatively unused by former boss Julen Lopetegui, but Santiago Solari’s arrival at the Bernabeu has seen his chances of playing for the first team change.

Having moved from his native Brazil in the summer, Vinicius now feels settled and he has taken time out to thank the likes of compatriots Marcelo and Casemiro.

“Casemiro and Marcelo have played a massive part of me settling in so quickly,” Vinicius told SporTV in Brazil, as cited by Diario AS.

“Nobody – not myself, my family, Real Madrid – would have envisaged me settling in so quickly, I think I have adapted very fast and now evolving as a player.

“Playing for the Castilla helped because I was here even though I was not with the first-team, I could adapt to Madrid and the way of life, the expectations here.

“I want to continue earning first-team opportunities, I am very excited.”

Alaves want deal for Llorente

Llorente spent 2017 on loan with Alaves but has started just five times for Madrid since, appearing once this season as a substitute.

The 23-year-old has cited his desire to play more recently and that has led Abelardo’s side to make an offer to get him back on a loan deal in January, which could be made permanent.

The former Spanish U21 international is close friends with Ibai Gomez, who played for the Basque club.
