Leganes vs Alaves: Struggling Pepineros host high flying Basques

Leganes vs Alaves – Estadio Butarque – Friday 23rd November – Kick off 8pm UK time

Mauricio Pellegrino’s Leganes will look to extend their unbeaten run to three games and climb out of the relegation zone when they welcome Alaves to the Butarque on Friday night.

Draws with Atlético Madrid and Girona have moved Los Pepineros level on points with 17th placed Athletic Club and they will escape the relegation zone for a while if they avoid defeat to Alaves.

Abelardo Fernandez’s men on the other hand have made a brilliant start to the season and find themselves in fourth place, just one point behind league leaders Barcelona. Last time out, the Babazorros defeated promoted Huesca 2-1 at the Mendizorrotza.

In last season’s meetings, Leganes came out on top in Madrid, winning 1-0 before the spoils were shared in a 2-2 draw in Vitoria.
