We begin our La Liga Latest in Madrid where Atletico Madrid have been contacted by AC Milan for the services of Diego Godin.
The Uruguayan defender has been in superb form this season and famously scored the winner against Athletic Bilbao before the international break, whilst being injured.
Having been a mainstay in the Atleti defence for some-time, Godin was expected to sign a new deal at the Wanda Metropolitano, however, he is yet to do and his current deal is now due to expire next summer.
Griezmann must win Ballon d’Or, claims Enrique Cerezo
Griezmann is fully expected to be in the top three of the Ballon d’Or finalists and with his World Cup win this summer, he could well be favourite.
Cerezo, who has been a fond admirer of the Frenchman, has backed him to win the much coveted award and believes he fully deserves the honour.
“Griezmann not in top three, who said that?” Cerezo said to reporters on Thursday. “I do not believe that for one second.
“In my opinion, Antoine Griezmann is a perfect winner of the Ballon d’Or and that has been no better player than him this season.”
Atletico sign super ‘India’ deal
Atleti officials have signed a deal with TATA Group, one of the most respected and oldest economic companies in the country.
The group employs over 600,000 people and has an annual revenue of 108billion dollars and the deal will see a new football academy formed with the name TATA Atletico Madrid attached to it.
A professional plan for the players and the structure of Jamshedpur FC of the Indian Superleague, owned by TATA, wil also be implemented.
Further, a group of young Indian talents will be chosen to participate in a long-term international comprehensive training programme to be held by Atletico in Madrid.
