Eibar embarrassed Real Madrid on Saturday afternoon, beating them 3-0 at Ipurua.
Santiago Solari’s winning start as Madrid boss came to a crashing end in what was a performance that looked similar to that Julen Lopetegui’s reign.
Madrid did have a goal disallowed through Gareth Bale in the early stages after he strayed offside and Karim Benzema’s close range effort was cleared off the line by Coke.
But, those chances for the European champions were all they could really muster as the likes of Raphael Varane, Luka Modric and Sergio Ramos – all had poor games.
Gonzalo Escalante opened the scoring for the home side after superb play from on loan Barcelona man Marc Cucurella and the lead was soon doubled when Sergi Enrich fired home – again being supplied by the excellent Cucurella.
Madrid looked rocked and a flurry of chances could have seen Eibar net even more, but the home side who looked set for their first even win over Madrid – settled for three, when Cucurella again turned provider for Kike, who directed the ball past a helpless Thibaut Courtois.
The win pushed Eibar up the table and halts any progression made by Solari at Madrid, leaving them sixth places with five defeats already this season.
