Real Sociedad vs Celta Vigo – Estadio Anoeta – Monday 26th October – Kick-off 8 am UK time
On Monday evening, two disappointing teams so far this season are facing each other. Both Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo are having a tough season. A win for one of the teams, could put them away from the lower part of the La Liga standings.
Before the international fixtures, Celta fired Antonio Mohamed, following the loss against Real Madrid. The firing was expected, with Celta only having one victory in their last nine La Liga-games. At the moment, Celta are only three points above the relegation spots on number 15, and therefore at victory on the Anoeta could be crucial.
Sociedad went on the international break with an important victory out against Levante. The win meant that they are two points above Celta before the match.
Sociedad are usually strong at home, and Celta are equally bad on the road with only one win away from Balaídos this season. Therefore, Sociedad are slighty favourites to win the match, but it is a game with two very evenly matched sides.
One of Sociedad key players, Asier Illarmendi are suspended for the match, while Mikel Merino and Joseba Zaldua looks to be fit again, but probably not for the line-up.
For Celta, both Gustavo Cabral and Hugo Mallo are banned for the match, while Nestor Araújo looks to be fit to play from the start.
