Diego Costa and Antoine Griezmann had an altercation during Atletico Madrid’s draw with Barcelona, following the former’s altercation with Samuel Umtiti.
Saturday evening’s game at Wanda Metropolitano was a nervy affair and featured some superb battles on the pitch.
Umtiti, who made his return from injury alongside Gerard Pique had their hands full with Costa, who was desperate to get himself a goal after not scoring for the last 18 games.
The Brazilian born Spanish international did net the opener, albeit to be cancelled out by Ousmane Dembele’s leveller.
Costa, who was fired up for the game, showed in his goal celebration – enjoyed a tough battle with Umtiti and it led to numerous altercations.
Griezmann, who plays with Umtiti for France seemed to be the peacemaker in one incident and Movistar + have now released footage they claim shows Costa shouting at his Atleti team-mate.
Of course, the pair were seen celebrating after Costa’s opener but some media reports in Spain are making the most out of the heated footage.
The result sees Atleti remain third, whilst Barca drop to second after Sevilla were able to secure a win on Sunday afternoon against Real Valladolid thanks to a goal from the much praised Andre Silva.
