Valencia boss Marcelino and winger Goncalo Guedes have reportedly fallen out over the latter’s performance against Real Madrid on Saturday.
The performances of Portuguese international Guedes have been excellent in the last two years at Los Che, but it is understood that Marcelino was unhappy with his showing against Madrid in the 2-0 defeat.
Guedes, who arrived on a permanent deal from Paris Saint Germain this summer after constant negotiations between the Spanish club and the Ligue 1 champions – saw himself injured at the start of the season and he has since been recovering.
Movistar picked up on a heated moment between Marcelino and Guedes during Saturday’s game at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The cameras picked up on the coach calling the winger over for a chat and it is understood that he said: “there have been 27 minutes, and you have not yet done anything.”
Goals from Gareth Bale and Lucas Vazquez gave Madrid all three points, a result which pushed them to fifth in the table.
The result sees Valencia’s struggles continue and keeps them lingering in the bottom half of the table, making them a shadow of what they were last term.
