Real Betis vs Rayo Vallecano – Estadio Benito Villamarin – Sunday 9th December – Kick off 7:45pm UK time
Quique Setien’s Real Betis side will be looking for their fourth win on the bounce when they welcome second bottom Rayo Vallecano to the Villamarin on Sunday night.
Wins over Racing Santander, Real Sociedad and Olympiacos in the Copa del Rey, La Liga and Europa League have instilled confidence in the Verdiblancos and they are big favourites to beat Rayo at the weekend.
The Madrid side won in the league for the first time since matchday three last Friday night with a 1-0 victory over Eibar but were knocked out of the cup in midweek following a 1-0 defeat to Leganes.
Betis and Rayo last met in the 2015/16 La Liga season with Betis 2-0 winners in the capital before the points were shared in Seville after a 2-2 draw.
Andres Guardado is the only confirmed absentee for Betis, a hamstring injury keeping the Mexican midfielder out until January, with Sergio Canales expected to play despite picking up a knock against Racing on Thursday.
Long term absentee Gorka Elustondo is Rayo’s main injury worry with Gael Kakuta, Lass Bangoura and Javi Guerra doubtful.
