Villarreal vs Celta Vigo Stadion – La Ceramica – Saturday 8th December – Kick-off 17 pm UK time
Both Villarreal and Celta Vigo have had their ups and downs this season. Celta has had some amazing ups with a victory against Atletico early on in La Liga, for Villarreal, it feels as it has been mostly down. But the fact is, that only three points are separating the two teams before the game on Saturday.
The Yellow Submarine has been taking in water for most the season. With only one win of their last eight games in the league, and only six points at La Ceramica this season, they need to get the pumps going or else they will soon below the waterline on one of the relegation spots. At the moment, only three points separate them from Athletic Bilbao on 16th before this round. However, after this midweek we could see a turnaround for Villarreal.
Villarreal smacked Almeria in Copa del Rey with 8-0 and Karl Toko Ekambi scored four goals. Meanwhile, Celta lost against Real Sociedad and therefore got kicked out of the Copa. The confidence boost for Ekambi and Villarreal as a team could see them playing as a new squad on Saturday. This could cause a lot of trouble for Celtas defence, which at times this season has been woeful.
Ekambi could and should grab a spot in the line-up after his four-goal against Almeria this midweek.
At Celta, Fran Beltran is back from injury and will probably grab a spot in the midfield.
