Leganes and Getafe shared the points at Butarque on Friday evening to begin the weekend’s La Liga action.
The first of the La Liga’s weekend fixtures began with Leganes hosting Jose Bordalas’ side in a Madrid derby and it did not fail to entertain.
The visitors had the larger dominance in the first period and it was Leandro Cabrera who opened the scoring in the 39th minute with a well taken header.
The home side changed their approach in the second period and became more attacking, taking over the possession stats which ended 67% in their favour at the 90 minute mark.
And, their change in style and play ended in success when Cameroon defender Allan Nyom got himself a rare goal, netting the equalizer inside the area just after the hour mark.
The game then filtered out to a draw, despite the home side continuing to knock on the door.
There was one last bit of action to discuss though as Leganes midfielder Ruben Perez was sent off three minutes into injury time.
The result now ensures that the home side keep their unbeaten run in all competitions alive, which now stands at seven, whilst the visitors sit sixth in the standings.
