Real Sociedad defender Diego Llorente has rallied his side to seal three points against Alaves on Friday evening.
La Real have had a dismal season and have no consistency going into the final league game of 2018.
Asier Garitano arrived from Leganes in the summer but he has failed to guide his side to a successful period, losing three on the spin i n La Liga which leaves them sitting dangerously close to the relegation places in 15th place.
Alaves will arrive as one of the league’s in-form sides, having sat top last month and they lead the head-to-head ties against La Real by two wins heading into Friday’s 23rd game between the two.
“It is true that this weekend, we need three points out of three,” Llorente told reporters. “It is not a final, but we want to win and head into the Christmas break with a good feeling.
“Two weeks ago we looked okay, but we have now suffered three defeats and it seems like we are losing it all. We have to remain cool and continue to work hard.”
Llorente is expected to feature at centre-back ahead of young Robin Le Normand. Aritz Elustondo is fit after spraining his ankle and should slot in at right-back. Juanmi is expected to be deployed on the left-hand side of the attack, allowing Mikel Oyarzabal to continue centrally.
Sagnalli returns to training….
Luca Sagnall has given Asier Garitano some hopeful news and it is news that will bring joy to the La Real fans too after he made a return to training on Thursday morning.
Joseba Zaldua did not train, but Aritz Elustondo did train and will most likely appear against Alaves.
