Manchester City youngster Brahim Diaz is reported to have requested the number 21 shirt ahead of his move to Real Madrid.
The Spanish U21 international is out of contract with the English club this summer and has been heavily linked with a move back to his homeland with Los Blancos.
Reports across Spanish and English media claim that a deal is all-but complete, leading City boss Pep Guardiola to announce that the youngster’s future was ‘out of his hands’.
Talk is now speeding up in Spain with Marca now reporting that he has already requested the shirt number worn by Isco – number 21.
That news is likely to cause a stir amongst Madrid fans, who have seen both side’s to Isco’s game during his time at the club.
The Spanish midfielder has been in and out of the Madrid starting eleven for some-time now and has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, even with Manchester City.
However, speaking to Desportes Cuatro on his arrival back in Madrid, Isco said: “I do not think about leaving in the winter market, I’m very happy, my goal is to win many titles at Real Madrid.”
The report in Marca also says that either Isco or Dani Ceballos wil be forced to move in if and when Diaz comes into the club.
Ceballos has struggled to make a name for himself with the World Champions since moving from Real Betis two seasons back.
