Alvaro Morata sends agent to Seville for talks

Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata has sent his agent to Seville to undergo talks over a move back to La Liga.

It was heavily reported before the winter break that Sevilla’s sporting director Joaquin Caparros was actively looking at bringing Morata to the club, and that has now gained pace after reports of the striker’s agent holding a meeting with the Andalusian club’s bosses.

Marca report that Juanma Lopez met with Caparros on Monday and both discussed their plans moving forward, however, a stumbling block could be the Spanish striker’s wages, having requested one million euros per month.

One potential is a loan deal, but Chelsea are said to be holding off any talks until manager Maurizio Sarri gives a clear indication on the future of the former Real Madrid and Juventus man.

Morata joined the Blues from Real Madrid last summer but has struggled to adapt to English football, last scoring in the Europa League against Greek side PAOK.

Caparros is keen to bring in Morata and see him provide healthy competition with Wissam Ben Yedder and Andre Silva in the attacking roles.

His potential arrival would also provide cover for Luis Muriel, who struggled this season and has since moved to Fiorentina.
