Thibaut Courtois has been ruled out through injury, it has been confirmed by Real Madrid, whilst the club have fined Gareth Bale.
The Belgian international completed his move to the Santiago Bernabeu last summer in a €40m from Premier League side Chelsea and has since made 21 appearances in all competitions.
His form has been mixed, however, coinciding with Madrid’s inconsistency this campaign – but they will now have to do without his services after they confirmed he will miss action through a muscle injury.
Courtois joins the likes of Marco Asensio, Marcos Llorente, Mariano Diaz and Toni Kroos on the sidelines, giving Santi Solari a headache ahead of the weekend trip to Andalusia where they face Real Betis.
Keylor Navas is expected to take the number one spot in the coming weeks.
Gareth Bale, who is also injured, has been fined by the club for leaving the defeat to Real Sociedad early at the weekend.
Diario AS are amongst those reporting the news on Thursday morning, saying the Welsh international is accused of breaking rules which state players should stay for the whole match.
Bale is currently missing from action with a calf muscle strain, which he suffered in the 2-2 draw with Villarreal at the start of 2019.
