Los Verdiblancos are reportedly interested in signing Strasbourg right-back Kenny Lala after the 27-year-olds exceptional start to the 2018-19 campaign.
Strasbourg are currently flying high in sixth place in the French first division and naturally clubs are taking note of their key players with Lala being Setién’s main defensive target.
Betis currently have Antonio Barragán and Francis occupying the right back role with former Middlesbrough man Barragán particularly performing to a high standard of late.
But it still appears that Betis will look to add further depth by signing the offensive full-back who has scored three goals and gained six assists during 20 appearances in all competitions.
RMC Sport have reported that Betis are ready to pay a fee of around €8million to sign Lala, who is contracted until summer 2020 and the Ligue 1 club will be in no rush to sell.
If the Andalusians want to get the deal over the line this month, they will have to move quickly with the window now past the half way stage.
Who is Lala?
The French-born Martinique national can play both offensive and defensive roles on the right and side as well as the ability to fill in at left back.
Starting his career at local side Paris FC, before spells with Valenciennes and Lens followed.
The full back signed for his current employers on a free transfer in July 2017, and has gone largely under the radar until now.
Despite interest from Betis, Lala only signed a contract extension at the club just before Christmas on December 21st which makes the deal even more unlikely.
