Raul de Tomas has remained coy on his future after links of a return to Real Madrid.
The Spanish striker has scored more goals in the league than any other Madrid player so far this season and bagged a sensational hat-trick last week against Celta Vigo in his side’s 4-2 victory.
Eight league goals so far this term, de Tomas has been a revelation at Rayo and links of an early recall to the Santiago Bernabeu have been hot in the Spanish press since his treble against the Galician side.
Onda Cero first reported the news of a potential recall but then countered it, claiming that Madrid could not recall the striker from his loan, as the deal does not contain a clause of such.
“It’s normal that people keep talking about me and Real Madrid, but that’s because I have a contract with them,” De Tomas told Radio Marca.
“But on the other hand, I scored a hat-trick for another club and when the first questions are asking you about Madrid, well that is not what I want.
“These are the circumstances as they are and we do not know the future, but at the moment things are going very well.
“Nobody at Rayo is thinking about relegation, we are only thinking of growing as a team and scrapping for everything.”
De Tomas returned to Madrid last summer after a loan spell at Vallecas, where he scored 24 goals in the Segunda last term, helping Rayo to promotion.
The Madrid born goalscorer has only ever made one appearance for Madrid, despite featuring heavily for the club’s C and B sides between the years of 2011 to 2015 – whilst he has represented the Spanish national side at all levels up until U19.
In his 49 games for the Vallecas side, De Tomas has netted an impressive 32 goals in all competitions.
