Real Madrid have made Porto defender Eder Militao a transfer target and could complete the move in the coming days, according to Spanish daily Marca.
The 20-year-old has been in good form this season for the Portuguese side, helping them secure a 18 game unbeaten run in all competitions.
The Brazilian born centre-back joined Porto last summer from Sao Paulo and has so far, featured in 22 games.
Marca followed up a report in A Bola last week which said their were no plans to sell the defender, but that stance now seems to have changed after negotiations took place.
Former Madrid defender Pepe joined Porto earlier this month and is said to be a replacement for the young defender.
Militao’s release clause at Porto was increased earlier this season to €50m after interest from the likes of Manchester United in the Premier League.
That release clause will increase by 50% come the summer, so Madrid will be keen to tie up a deal this month.
The former Sao Paulo man has already been capped by the Brazilian national side and would provide adequate back-up to the likes of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, whilst he also provides the option to play on the right hand side of a defensive back four.
