Ferran Torres and Rodrigo scored late goals as Valencia came from behind to beat Celta Vigo 2-1 on Saturday evening.
The pressure has firmly been on Los Che boss Marcelino in recent weeks and it looked like he would once again be heavily criticised in the press when Nestor Araujo opened the scoring for the home side in the 40th minute.
Despite the opener, the first half was a fairly even affair but neithe side could push for the all important next goal of the game.
Valencia came in the second half, looking fired up and a couple of changes from Marcelino led to the opening goal.
Kevin Gameiro and Ferran Torres were hauled on and it was the latter who got the visitors back on level terms.
With the clock running down, Valencia looked most likely to grab a winner in the final ten minutes and it was Gameiro who found Rodrigo to seal all three points and ensure that Marcelino would survive another week as boss at the Mestalla.
Valencia move up to 7th with the win, whilst Celta are now in real trouble – sitting just above the relegation places, ahead of Rayo Vallecano, Villarreal and rock bottom Huesca.
