Alaves are in talks with Real Betis over a loan deal for Takashi Inui until the end of the season.
The former Betis midfielder has found playing time hard to come by since arriving at the Benito Villamarin and it is understood that he now wants to arrange a move this month and gain first team football.
Inui is currently helping the Japanese national team at the Asia Cup, so any deal is unlikely until deadline day but negotiations between the two La Liga clubs are said to be moving forward.
Alaves are keen to bring in Inui as a replacement for Ibai Gomez, who left for former club Athletic Bilbao earlier this month.
Marca report the loan talks, but also claim that no buyout option will be included for the former Eibar man.
Playmaker Inui spent three successful seasons with Eibar and was arguably one of La Liga’s most in-form players last season, whilst he also performed for his country at the World Cup last summer.
Alaves, who have recently partnered with Japanese club Kagoshima United – will now be hoping to seal the deal this month after seeing a number of results slip, which included a 4-0 defeat to Getafe at the weekend.
