Neymar clarifies his future, claiming PSG ‘feels like home’

Paris Saint Germain forward Neymar has looked to put rumours of a return to Barcelona to bed after his latest comments.

Countless reports before the winter break in Spain claimed that Neymar wanted to leave Paris Saint Germain and return to Barca, just two summers after calling time on his career at Camp Nou.

And those reports have now been followed up with claims by El Mundo (via Marca) that the player’s father has made contact with Josep Maria Bartomeu, pleading with the Barcelona president to allow him a return to the Catalan capital.

The Brazilian, who left the La Liga club under a cloud, has since drifted, playing understudy to young French sensation Kylian Mbappe, who continues to grab the headlines in Paris.

Aside from the above, Neymar dropped away from the Ballon d’Or running and it is now accepted by the Brazil international that he made a mistake in moving clubs.

Despite, those claims – Neymar has attempting to calm such rumours, by telling Canal+: “I have adapted to life in French football, it was easy because Ligue 1 is very similar to La Liga.

“It was a little longer to adapt culturally and to the city but after the first period there, I now feel that I am at home in Paris. There is always speculation over me and my future but nothing is certain and when it is, that is the time when I will talk.

“I’m very happy to be talked about because that shows I am among the best, but many of the things that are said about me are simply not true.”

A close friend to Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi of Barca, Neymar also spent Christmas with midfielder Arthur, who is said to have a growing relationship with.

Whilst the possibility of his return is now growing in reports, it is still not yet known if Josep Maria Bartomeu will simply allow him to return – having previously requested an apology from the player over his exit.
