Barcelona B youngster Moussa Wague has been banned for four games after assaulting a fan last week.
The 20-year-old was sent off for Barca’s second string after striking an opponent when he had gone to get the ball from the crowd for a throw in against SD Ejea.
The Senegalese youngster has since apologised the club and the fan, but also claimed that he was racially abused during the game.
Wague joined Barcelona from Eupen last summer and has slowly been developing for the B side, giving Ernesto Valverde cause to promote him and give him first team chances.
Spanish league officials have now confirmed that he will miss four league games, whilst Ejea have accepted his apology.
Whilst the lower league club accepted the apology, they have now confirmed the claims of racism.
Barcelona have appealed over the length of ban, citing racism being present in the incident.
Meanwhile, La Masia star Ilaix Moriba is set to sign a new deal with the club after receiving interest from a number of Premier League clubs.
Wonder-kid Ilaix Moriba, who has been compared to none other than Yaya Touré was attracting strong interest from notorious talent poachers Manchester City who were confident they could lure him away from Spain.
Earlier this week, City were believed to be close to signing the midfielder, who has just turned 16, but it now appears that the youngster has had a change of heart.
