On the front side of it things, Valladolid against Celta Vigo does not sound like a big game, but tomorrow, everything is on the line for both sides.
Date: Sunday, 27th January – Kick-Off 11 am UK-time – Estadio Jose Zorilla
With Valladolid on 22 points for the season and Vigo on 21, both teams are just above the relegation line. Below the line, on 20 points, Rayo Vallecano are lurking and have been in really fine shape throughout the last month. That means a win for either of the teams tomorrow, could give them a little bit of breathing space.
Winning a game in La Liga is not something either Valladolid or Vigo are used to anymore. Neither of them has won a game since the start of December. Both teams need to turn things around, or else, the Segunda Division is calling next season.
Vigo has had a dreadful week up to the game. First, they threw Emre Mor out of the squad because of disciplinary reasons. Next, Iago Aspas got a setback to his injury and could be out for another full month. The good news is that Maxi Gomez looks to stay at Vigo, after rumours of him going to West Ham.
When the teams met earlier this season, we were spoiled with a 3-3 game at Estadio Balaidos. None of the teams can risk of losing the match tomorrow, so we are probably gonna see a more tactical and nervous affair.
For Valladolid, Ivi Lopez is in doubtful for the game, and Luismi is out of the squad with an injury.
David Costas and Iago Aspas are injured and Emre Mor is left out of the squad for disciplinary reasons.
Valladolid 1-1 Celta Vigo
