Ivan Rakitic wanted by Chelsea but has not intentions to leave Barca

Ivan Rakitic has not intention to leave Barcelona after receiving interest from English side Chelsea.

Diario Sport amongst other Spanish reports have claimed that Rakitic is subject to a bid from the Premier League side, who want to agree a deal in principle for the summer.

The Croatian international has been a key figure for the Catalan side since arriving in 2014 and is one of Ernesto Valverde’s most consistent performers.

The rumours come after Frenkie De Jong was signed by Barca and will arrive in summer, coupled with a promise by the club’s board that they will sell three midfielders.

One of those is said to be Denis Suarez, whilst Rakitic will continue to be linked with a move away.

However, speaking to Mundo Deportivo on Monday evening, the former Sevilla man said: “I would like to renew and stay for many years.”

The Croatian has won four Copa del Rey titles and the Champions League with Barcelona, aswell as three league titles.

Meanwhile, Suarez has agreed a new contract but is expected to join Arsenal on loan in the coming days.

Rafinha, who is currently out injured, is expected to be the other midfielder sold by Barcelona this coming summer, whilst Arturo Vidal is not expected to be a long term option.
