Valencia came from 2-0 down on aggregate to beat Getafe on Tuesday evening and secure a place in the Copa del Rey semi-final.
Marcelino’s side have struggled for consistency this term and they found themselves trailing Getafe after a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of their quarter final tie.
Things immediately went from bad to worse for the home side, who saw veteran striker and visiting captain, Jorge Molina, score almost directly from kick off.
Jose Bordalas’ side have been impressive this season and it was another sign of their threat as the Mestalla’s Copa volumn and hopes were silenced.
The first half would end 1-0 to the away side and give Los Che a mountain to climb but it was on the hour mark that Rodrigo Moreno ended his goal scoring trouble by firing them back into the tie.
Getafe would then suffer further bad luck after impressive central defender Djene Dakonam was shown a second yellow card and received his marching orders.
And from that moment, Los Che took the advantage with Rodrigo netting a double to send them through.
The action did not stop their though as a row amongst players and coaching staff including Diakhaby sent off in the melee.
Valencia will now anxiously wait their semi-final opponents with Barcelona playing Sevilla, Betis playing Espanyol and Real Madrid facing Girona later this week.
