Huesca produced a superb performance on Friday evening to beat Real Valladolid 4-0 at Estadio El Alcoraz.
On paper, you could be excused for thinking this tie was a foregone conclusion based on their current league standings, but it proved not to be the case on a chilly Friday night as the home side did their survival chances the very best they could have.
The opening goal for the home side came after just 19 minutes when Enric Gallego struck in what was a fairly even opening 20 minutes.
The game continued to be equal with neither side really dominated but it proved to be Huesca who would grab the next goal.
Jorge Pulido grabbed it, just five minutes after the break and his goal was followed by Moi Gomez just three minutes later.
That three minute spell saw Huesca slow the game down to their pace and Valladolid struggled to create from then on.
The home side who do remain bottom with the win, added a fourth with just over ten minutes to go as Ezequiel Avila struck to send the home fans into raptures.
A shock result to most fans of La Liga but it is one that gives the rock bottom side – hope.
