Eibar vs Girona – Ipurua – Sunday 3rd February – Kick off 5:30pm UK time
Eibar welcome Girona to the Ipurua on Sunday evening as both sides aim for three points to lift themselves further away from the bottom of La Liga.
The Basques sit in 11th while visitors Girona find themselves 16th, but the two teams are separated by just two points, such is the tightness of the Spanish top flight this season. There is in fact just six points between Real Betis in ninth and Rayo Vallecano in 18th making every point all the more crucial.
Girona will climb above Eibar, possibly as high as tenth, with a win while the home side would move up to ninth with a win.
Last weekend saw Eibar draw 2-2 at Leganes despite leading 2-0 while Girona went down to Barcelona at the Montilivi by two goals to nil.
Eibar hold the upper hand between these two sides as well, having won all three meetings with Girona in La Liga. The earlier game this season finished 3-2 to Los Armeros in Catalonia, with both games last season finishing 4-1 in their favour too.
Pedro Leon and Jordi Calavera are the only two missing for José Luis Mendilibar’s men with an otherwise fully fit squad to choose from.
Eusebio Sacristan on the other hand has no less than eight players to deal without for the trip North with the suspended Bernardo Espinosa joining the injured group of Marc Muniesa, Seydou Doumbia, Patrick Roberts, Borja Garcia, Johan Mojica, Gorka Iraizoz and Aday Benitez on the sidelines.
Eibar (4-4-2): Dmitrovic; Peña, Arbilla, Ramis, Cote; Orellana, Diop, Jordan, Cucurella; Enrich, Kike
Girona (3-5-1-1): Bono; Juanpe, Alcala, Ramalho; Porro, Garcia, Pons, Granell, Valery; Portu; Stuani
Eibar 2-0 Girona
