Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has rubbished claims that Neymar could return to the club, whilst saying Philippe Coutinho is not leaving the club.
Long has Neymar been linked with a return to the Camp Nou after claims he is growing unhappy with life at Paris Saint Germain and that he misses the Catalan club, friends Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez and wants to play in a more competitive league.
Those claims continue, whilst further reports have said that he and his father have both called Bartomeu begging for a return.
Neymar left Barca two seasons back after PSG came in with a lucrative offer and sealed a deal for the Brazilian international.
Whilst claims continue in French and Spanish media, Bartomeu has attempted to calm them, denying a phone calls with the aforementioned duo.
“I have never spoken to them, nor have the father or player called me to return to Barca. They have not called,” Bartomeu told El Partidazo de COPE.
“We are preparing for next season and the name of Neymar is not on the table. We are talking about a PSG player and I do not think that PSG want to get rid of a player like him.”
Neymar’s international team-mate Coutinho has also been in the news of late, having struggled to make an impact at the Catalan club this season.
Form has improved lately for the former Liverpool man, but talk of a summer exit continue with Manchester United, Chelsea, PSG and Inter Milan all linked to a move.
Bartomeu addressed those links too during his interview, reacting negatively and saying that the playmaker still has a future in La Liga with Barca.
“It’s not (possible), he is very young and we expect a lot from him,” he added.
“We do not want to sell to Coutinho.”
