German outlet claims Barcelona have Jovic deal agreed

Barcelona have agreed a deal to sign Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt, according to Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

The Catalan side have been looking across the market for a new striker, citing a need to provide a back up to Luis Suarez.

Having signed Kevin-Prince Boateng in January on a short term basis, the La Liga leaders have done just that but they are reportedly keen on Jovic as a long gterm option.

Whilst the latest claim in FAZ reports that a deal has been agreed in principle, Frankfurt officials say that they have not received an official offer.

Jovic is currently on loan from Portuguese side Benfica but is expected to be made a permanent Frankfurt player this coming summer.

That is then expected to be completed and then he is expected to be sold to Barca, seeing the German side make profit on the young striker.

Jovic, has been linked with a number of big European sides of late, including Chelsea and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

The 21-year-old Bosnia and Herzogovnia striker has scored an impressive 19 goals in 27 appearances so far this season and he became the youngest player ever to score five goals in one Bundesliga game against Fortuna Dusseldorf back in October 2018.
