Celta Vigo played against Levante on the early Saturday kick-off at a sunny Estadio Balaidos.
Both teams were in need of a win to get away from relegation line in La Liga, but Levante almost settled the game in the first half and ended up winning 4-1. Celta was far from their best once again.
Iago Aspas was expected to start for Celta after coming back from injury, but the Spaniard saw the whole game from the bench.
From the start of the match it was obvious, that they Celta would have a hard time creating chances, with also Maxi Gomez being out with a red card from last weekend.
Therefore it was pretty natural, that Levante came in front after 20 minutes, and the Celta defence showed their weaknesses once again. Ruben Rochina delivered an easy through ball for Jose Morales who was cold as ice in front goal.
The half continued in the same way, with Levante creating a good amount of chances and Celta having a hard time.
Five minutes before half time, Rochina delivered a perfect corner-kick and good old Coke Andujar jumped highest and scored on a brilliant header.
Celta Vigo started the second half, better than the first. However, that only lasted 4 minutes. Their newly signed, Ryad Boudebouz got sent off with a straight red.
Boudebouz made a sliding tackle and lifted his foot so high, that he hit a Levante player on the thigh. Incredibly stupid and a fully deserved red for the new Celta man.
Celta though, continued with the same enthusiam, they started the half with, and both Stanislav Lobotka and Okay Yokuslu had some shots that went just wide of the Levante goal. But things just got even harder for Celta after 60 minutes.
Borja Mayoral put a nice ball through the Celta defence, and Morales was cool and calm once again in front of the goal to score his second of the game.
After 87 minutes Celta got a penalty with Sofiane Boufal falling in the box. A harsh call from the referee, but Brais Mendez scored from the spot. However, just a minute after, Levante made their goal margin three once again.
Borja Mayoral made Wesley Hoedt look silly and afterwards he slotted the ball through the legs of Ruben Blanco. 4-1 to Levante, and it was only the second time that Levante scores four goals in a game this season.
With the loss, Celta could easily be under the relegation line when the weekend is over, and at the moment, absolutely nothing is going their way. Their defence is looking horrible and they get a lot of stupid reds cards.
Celta need Iago Aspas back on the pitch and at his best, or else the Segunda Divison could the place for them next season.
