Real Sociedad ensured that their unbeaten run in 2019 continued with a 3-0 home win over Leganes on Saturday.
It has been a remarkable turn around in fortunes for the Basque side, having struggled to find consistency before the international break but now Imanol Alguacil’s side are pushing themselves up the La Liga table.
Leganes approached the game providing a stern test, sitting in midtable but it proved to the the home side who would take all three points.
Mikel Oyarzabal has been in excellent form of late and he opened the scoring just after the half time break to send the home fans into raptures.
And, the young creative midfielder would get a second just nine minutes later as he pounced on a loose ball in the six yard box, before thumping home his effort.
Leganes did try to force the issue, but the likes of Diego Llorente and keeper Geronimo Rulli, never looked like being beaten on the day.
The result was rounded off late on by Brazilian striker Willian Jose, who rose above everyone to guide his header into the top corner and leave Ivan Cuellar rooted to the spot.
The win pushes La Real up to seventh, whilst Leganes remain in 12th.
