Lucas Silva exploring Real Madrid return after loan spell

Lucas Silva has discussed a potential return to Real Madrid after a loan spell back in his native Brazil.

The 26-year-old midfielder arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu in 205 but has not played since that year, having loan spell with French side Marseille and Cruzeiro.

Having been diagnosed with a heart condition during a medical with Sporting Lisbon in 2016, the former Brazilian youth international has now returned to action but will return from his loan spell to Madrid this coming summer.

His return to Madrid could also be followed by James Rodriguez. The Colombian international is now entering the final six months of his loan spell with German side Bayern Munich and it is firmly understood tht he will not be offered a permanent deal.

Bundesliga giants Bayern had been keen to take advantage of an agreed €35m option to sign him permanently, but that is now being held after poor form and an inconsistent spell in their first team.

Italian side Juventus are now said to be wanting to explore the option of signing the former AS Monaco man and tentative talks have already started with Real Madrid over a deal.

The Old Lady are now talking to James’ agent Jorge Mendes about a deal with sporting director Fabio Paratici having lunch in Dubai with the Portuguese.

Following those talks, Marca are now reporting that a conversation by phone between James and former Madrid team-mate Ronaldo have now taken place.

But that has now been matched by the Spanish daily, who claim James wants to move back to Spain with Madrid.
