Barcelona are looking at making a summer move for Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal, according to reports.
The 33-year-old joined the English club from former La Liga club Malaga in January 2013 and has made 227 first team appearances, playing at left-back and in a central role.
The Spaniard is out-of-contract this summer and it is now being reported The Mirror that Barcelona officials are keen to make a move.
The potential arrival of Monreal at the Camp Nou would alleviate Jordi Alba, who has been playing most minutes for the Catalan club and has no recognised back-up.
Barca have long been keen to add a back up for Alba, who has recently signed a new contract to remain with the Spanish champions.
The Catalan club are in superb form of late, having beaten Real Madrid twice last week, both in the Copa del Rey and in La Liga, which helped them maintain their seven point lead over Atletico Madrid.
Ernesto Valverde has a rare mid-week break for his squad in terms of competitive action, but they will face Girona in the Copa Catalunya on Wednesday evening.
However, it is expected that a largely dominated reserve and B team group of players will feature.
