Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has said he and his team-mates ‘always’ give their all for the club.
Los Blancos face the Dutch side after a week of back-to-back El Clasico defeats and tonight’s game will be season defining as they only have the European title left to play for, realistically.
A number of question marks have now arose about Solari and some of the more senior players at the club, including Gareth Bale, who has faced a lot of criticism from Spanish media and the club’s fans.
Sergio Ramos is absent for the game after picking up a two-match ban from UEFA, meaning it will be over to the likes of Karim Benzema and Luka Modric to lead Madrid on to the quarter final stage.
Leading 2-1 after a win in the first leg, Madrid have the advantage but given their poor home form of late, Ajax are confident they can spring a surprise on Spanish soil.
Prior to the match, Modric has faced questions from the press and he has insisted that he and his team-mates are ready to fight back.
“We don’t pay much attention to the rumours. We’re focused on how to improve. At Real Madrid there are always people speaking of these things, we can’t avoid that, but I think that we always give our all for Real Madrid and we always comes back.
“In 2015 we didn’t win anything and everyone said that Madrid was dead. You all know what happened next and what we won afterwards. That’s why you have to trust us, we will continue fighting, giving everything for this club and this shirt. This team has a good future.”
