Eden Hazard’s links to Real Madrid have once again popped up after Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri said he was unsure about the Belgian’s future.
It has been a month of madness so far at the Santiago Bernabeu which has seen Los Blancos crash out of all three major competitions, including losing their reign on the Champions League.
The removal of Santiago Solari as boss has also featured with club president Florentino Perez bringing back Zinedine Zidane.
And the Frenchman, who had a successful period as both player and coach at Madrid – is now trusted to turn their fortunes round and build a side ready for an onslaught on the La Liga title, Copa del Rey and Champions League next season.
Zidane has begun by convincing Perez to sign a long term target in Porto central defender Militão and the deal has now been confirmed by Madrid via their official website.
The 21-year-old Brazilian will arrive initially as cover for Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos, but given his 33 appearances in all competitions for Porto this term and his performance in those games – it can be expected that he will gain starts under Zidane.
And, talk of Eden Hazard coming to the club this summer has also re-started.
Hazard has long been linked with a move to Madrid and Chelsea boss Sarri has refused to calm down such rumours.
“You have to ask Hazard, I think, I did not speak to Eden about (Zinedine) Zidane,” Sarri told reporters, as cited by ESPN FC.
“I am not worried. You know very well my opinion – I only want players that want to play for Chelsea.”
