Juventus officials have met with Ajax defender Matthijs De Ligt’ agent, according to various reports.
The Dutch defender has captained his side to success this season, helping them move past Real Madrid in the Champions League and interest is a plenty from some of European football’s biggest clubs.
English side Manchester City have been labelled with interest, whilst Barcelona are the most often linked, having agreed a deal to bring his close friend and current team-mate, Frenkie De Jong to the Camp Nou this coming summer.
De Ligt, 19, is currently regarded as one of the most highly rated young talents in world football and is valued at around €75m by the Dutch giants.
Whilst Barca remain in pole position to make a summer move and believe De Jong’s arrival will help them sign the centre back, Juve are now said to be making moves to bring him to the Serie A.
Spanish daily Marca report that Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici has arranged a meeting over a transfer fee, of which, we understand is a second meeting between himself and the Dutch defender’ representatives.
The Bianconeri are set to play Ajax int the Champions League quarter-final next month, where all eyes will be on De Ligt.
