Rayo Vallecano failed to beat Real Betis on Sunday afternoon, despite having 20 shots on goal during the game.
Betis were highly expected to win this one at Vallecas but the home side seemed to have other ideas and the likes of Raul de Tomas were causing the visiting defence all sorts of problems from the get go.
Paco Jemez was back in charge of the home side after returning to the club and it was clear to see that his presence was felt as his side continued to attack with freedom.
De Tomas, who has been in superb form this season, opened the scoring, netting a lovely strike past Betis keeper Pau Lopez.
As much as they dominated with chances, Rayo failed to build on their lead however, and that was condemned when Cristian Tello got himself on the scoresheet for the visitors.
The former Barcelona winger has been frustrated of late, playing as a wing back, but he burst forward to get his side a much needed point and return to Seville in better spirits.
The final action of the game saw Franco Di Santo sent off in the 95th minute as both sides nervously hung on for the draw.
The point for Rayo sees them remain in 19th place, whilst Betis move to ninth.
