Huesca produced a battling display against Real Madrid on Sunday evening but Karim Benzema’s late strike sealed all three points for the home side.
The visitors sit rock bottom of the La Liga table but they must be given some plaudits for their attempts over the last few weeks, reducing the gap between themselves and 19th place Rayo Vallecano.
And, with it all to play for at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday evening – the visitors took the lead through Cucho Hernandez in the third minute.
The goal shocked the Bernabeu, who have watched their side struggle at home this year so far but Zinedine Zidane’s arrival back at the club has seen their hurt turn into optimism and the leveller did eventually come through Isco, who is now enjoying a better role in the starting eleven.
In typical Madrid fashion, they then dominated and it was over to another player who has been given few chances this term to put them in front. Dani Ceballos was on hand to make the score 2-1 just after the hour mark.
The away side were not done yet though and it was Xavier Etxeita who levelled things up with just over 15 minutes left on the clock.
Just as the visitors looked to grab an unlikely but deserved point – Karim Benzema popped up and sealed all three points for the home side.
