Barcelona put out a reserve side to face Huesca on Saturday and the game ended 0-0 at El Alcoraz.
The Catalan visitors opted to leave Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Sergi Roberto out of the matchday squad, whilst Luis Suarez and Gerard Pique were both suspended.
That allowed the likes of Jean Clair Todibo, Jeison Murillo, Mousa Wague and Rique Puig to take their chance and feature for the champions.
Huesca, who are sitting bottom of the La Liga table, have improved of late and they produced a fairly solid performance and in what turned out to be one of those 0-0 games that will not be remembered.
Ousmane Dembele and Malcom did their best to test the home side’s resolve, whilst Puig was arguably Barca’s best player, producing some eye catching moments.
Chances were few and far between in the match, which ended to the delight of many, who watched both side’s barely test each keeper.
A point for Barcelona keeps them top as their lead over Atletico Madrid continues to be healthy, whilst Huesca sit bottom but things could change over the next few matchdays.
Barca will now head back to the Catalan capital to focus on Tuesday night’s second leg tie with Manchester United in the Champions League.
