Jorge Molina scored in the 96th minute to rescue a point for Getafe against Real Valladolid on Sunday afternoon.
Jose Bordalas’ visitors are currently featured in an unpredictable Champions League push but in recent weeks they have been forced to battle for results and keep those hopes alive.
The visit to the Jose Zorilla was no different for the visitors who struggled against a desperate home side who are battling to keep themselves in La Liga.
Sergi Guardiola has been in good form of late for the hosts and he almost opened the scoring early on but it was the visitors who struck first through Mauro Arambarri in the 14th minute.
The opening goal seemed to spur the home side on and Guardiola would soon be celebrating as he levelled the tie in the 30th minute.
The second half then took a more end to end approach and the real drama began after Mathias Olivera was shown a red card which resulted in Enes Unal scoring from the penalty spot to send the home fans into jubilation.
Getafe were not to be outdone though as their resilience came to head with virtually the last kick of the game as Molina struck from the penalty spot.
The point moves Getafe down to fifth, one point off Sevilla – whilst Valladolid remain in the bottom three.
