It was a tale of two havles at the Anoeta on Sunday as Real Sociedad and Eibar drew 1-1.
Both sides approached Sunday’s game as even as you like, sitting comfortably in mid-table and it was no surprise that this game was played out on equal terms.
Sociedad got themselves ahead when Juanmi struck in the very first minute but from that moment on, despite having most of the ball – they failed to threaten Eibar’s backline.
However, despite all of Eibar’s 17 efforts on goal – only one managed to find the back of the net and that came as late as the 85th minute through Joan Jordan.
A point a piece then leaves both these sides exactly where they started play – sitting in midtable and race for Europe hotting up – it seems unlikely that either side could make a late push.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Athletic Bilbao managed to scrape past Rayo Vallecano, beating them 3-2 at San Mames, whilst Getafe pulled back a 2-2 draw with Real Valladolid.
The end the weekend’s action – Villarreal beat Girona 1-0 and Valencia managed a superb 3-1 win over neighbours and rivals, Levante.
