Newly promoted La Liga side Granada CF have sealed a deal to sign Roberto Soldado, it has been confirmed.
Having gained promotion back to La Liga, Diego Martinez’s side have been slowly adding extra quality to their side ahead of the season opener.
Veteran striker Soldado, who has had spells with the likes of Real Madrid, Osasuna, Getafe, Valencia, Tottenham Hotspur, Villarreal and most recently Fenerbahce – has now arrived to undergo a medical and complete his move.
The 34-year-old, who also received an offer from to Levante to return to Spain – will sign a one-year deal with Granada, which will also include the added option of a further 12 months.
Did you know? Soldado’s highest scoring season came in the 2012/2013 campaign with Valencia, netting 30 goals in 46 games.
Granada’s recruitment this summer has already seen Fede Vico arrive from Leganes, whilst Neyder Lozano has arrived from Elche on a free transfer.
Whilst Soldado’s experience will bo doubt bring just that – coach Martinez will have his work cut out to ensure that more in the shape of the former Valencia man are arriving in what he hopes will be a successful return to La Liga.
Granada will open their account against Villarreal on the 17th August at the Estadio de la Ceramica, before hosting Sevilla at Los Carmenes the following week.
