Joan Jordan scored the only goal of the game for Sevilla as they beat Granada 1-0 on Friday evening in La Liga.
Both these two sides had fairly different but good opening days in the league, seeing the home side come from behind to draw 4-4 with Villarreal and the visitors ensure a 1-0 win over Espanyol.
Granada, who were hosting their first game back in La Liga after gaining promotion last term – were on the back foot from the get go as Sevilla controlled most of the play.
And, it was not long until the opening chance of the half came when Jesus Navas came close, linking up with Lucas Ocampos.
Yan Eteki did have a rare chance for the hosts but was unable to find the back of the net with his effort, prompting Sevilla to take matters into their own hands and take the lead through Jordan.
Great work from Nolito saw the midfielder pick up a loose ball in the box before netting and wielding off in celebration.
Darwin Machis was hauled on by the home side and he almost got the home side back on level terms, hitting a half volley off the crossbar with time running out and his chance would prove to be the last as Sevilla held on for a second 1-0 win in a row.
