After Monday nights 1-0 victory over Malaga thanks to a goal from former Boquerones translated in English as the Anchovies striker Charles, we take a look at how Eibar will do this season.
Eibar finished in 10th position in 2016-17 a truly marvellous feat for the side from the Ipurua stadium ,This is their fourth consecutive season in La Liga but they in my opinion could shock several big teams this season with their class.
The star man for Eibar is Sergi Enrich the forward was the clubs top scorer last season scoring 10 goals in the league with interest high in him it will be interesting to see if he is still their player by the end of the transfer window in a weeks time.
Next up is a home game against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday and with Bilbao drawing 0-0 at the weekend with Getafe this is a very winnable fixture for Jose Luis Mendiilbar’s side.
I think that a top eight place is a realistic target for them this season after a professional performance seeing out the victory on Monday evening against a top side in Malaga.
SD Eibar are a fan owned club with more than 10,000 shareholders from 69 countries around the globe. Bebe is expected to be a big player for the club this season the former Manchester United was a thorn in the side last season playing with a quick tempo and ending with three goals in what was a successful season for the Portuguese.
Eibar play with a good tempo and are highly structured at the back so they will be difficult to break down with Ivan Ramis the leader of the pack in central defence and with a good young goalkeeper in Yoel behind them they will not concede many backing up a top ten finish.
Eibar were only outdone by a Cristiano Ronaldo at the Bernabeu last season as he scored a hat-trick while at home they held Los Blancos to a 1-1 draw setting up the rhythm to their season as they went on to frustrate many clubs above them and this season will be no different.
